About KoochyRoo Slings
KoochyRoo slings was founded by a UK babywearing mummy. She knew she wanted a baby sling, even before her baby was born, and went along to a high street store in excited anticipation. She returned home with the only carrier they had: a plain and fiddly looking contraption which would only last the baby to 12 months.
After her son arrived, she tried her best with the carrier, she really did – but it was difficult and time-consuming to put on, and neither she nor her newborn seemed to find it comfortable. However, she was determined to wear her baby, and searched for a prettier, simpler, better baby sling. It didn't take her long to discover a whole new world of babywearing, and she found not just one, but many beautiful slings that weren't available on the high street – and she wanted to share them with the world.
She contacted like-minded local mums, and started a local group for parents with an interest in such things as babywearing, breastfeeding and co-sleeping. She discovered this parenting style even had a name: attachment parenting. But she knew that baby slings could help all parents, whatever parenting style they used. So she learnt all she could about slings, and set up a business advocating, demonstrating and selling the most beautiful, practical and comfortable slings she could find.
