Will I strain my back?
Baby sings are designed to distribute the baby's weight evenly across your body, so it's unlikely that you would strain your back. Many people find that carrying their baby is the only way to soothe them, and using a baby sling will simply make this task easier on the back. Carrying any heavy weight can caused back strain if done incorrectly, so make sure you follow the instructions that come with the sling.
Can the baby breathe in the sling?
Babies naturally tend to turn their heads to make a better airway, and in any case traditional style baby slings are usually made from breathable cotton fabric, so even if baby's face is covered by the sling, he will still be able to breathe. It is still a good idea to check baby's position once they are in the sling, and ensure the airway is clear.
Is the baby uncomfortable?
If the baby is positioned correctly, he should be perfectly comfortable. People are often concerned that the baby looks squashed, however babies usually love to be tightly wrapped as it replicates the sensations they experienced in the womb. If baby experiences discomfort then they will normally cry.
